03 - 2 spring onions, finely sliced
04 - 1 garlic clove, minced
05 - 1 teaspoon soy sauce
06 - ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
07 - ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
08 - ¼ teaspoon salt

09 - 24 square wonton wrappers
10 - Water for sealing

→ Cooking

11 - Cooking spray or vegetable oil

→ Dipping Sauce (optional)

12 - 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
13 - 1 tablespoon soy sauce

# Directions:

01 - In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, crab meat, spring onions, garlic, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, and salt. Mix until smooth and well integrated.
02 - Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Spoon approximately 1 teaspoon of filling into the center. Moisten wrapper edges with water, fold diagonally to form a triangle, press out air, and seal firmly. For traditional shape, bring two corners together and seal.
03 - Repeat filling and folding process with remaining wrappers and filling mixture.
04 - Lightly coat prepared wontons with cooking spray or brush with a small amount of vegetable oil on all sides.
05 - Set air fryer to 375°F and preheat for 3 minutes.
06 - Place wontons in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not overlap or touch.
07 - Air fry for 7 to 9 minutes, turning halfway through cooking, until golden brown and crispy.
08 - Transfer to serving plate and serve hot with dipping sauce on the side.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • Lighter Alternative: By using an air fryer, you get all the crunch of deep-frying with significantly less oil.
  • Easy Preparation: With simple ingredients and a straightforward folding process, these wontons are beginner-friendly.
  • Classic Flavors: The combination of savory crab, smooth cream cheese, and aromatics like garlic and spring onion is a timeless favorite.
02 -
  • Remove Air Pockets: When sealing, make sure to press out as much air as possible to prevent the wontons from bursting in the air fryer.
  • Keep Wrappers Moist: Keep the wonton wrappers covered with a damp paper towel while you work to prevent them from drying out and becoming brittle.
  • Single Layer: Do not overcrowd the basket; if making a large batch, cook them in multiple rounds for the best texture.
